01_management position M.S.

Joined in April 2014 (management position) Name: M.S.Affiliation: Process Management Team, Manufacturing Section, Sanbongi Factory

I am in charge of improving our manufacturing processes and researching silicon wafer reclamation technology.
I feel a great sense of accomplishment when a method I propose becomes used for the production line and enhances production.

Reasons for applying and joining the company

When reflecting on my activities during my education, I realized that I liked the process of findings ways in diligently making small improvements. When I shared that story during the recruitment interview, they indicated that there was a job position for making improvements to their manufacturing processes, which I became very interested in.
Although my background is in humanities and I had no experience in silicon wafers, I thought that it was a great opportunity when they gave me a chance, so I decided to join.

What are the specifics of your job?

I am in charge of improving our manufacturing processes and researching silicon wafer reclamation technology.
To return as many satisfactory reclaimed wafers to our customers against the backdrop of our customers requiring massive amounts of high quality silicon wafers. We must constantly develop new reclamation methods and internally validate and test the effectiveness before deployment. I participate in the general work required for those validations and testing (i.e., propose plans, manage progress, request cooperation from each department).

Please describe the appeal of your work, your sense of accomplishment, and future goals

Validation tests do not always produce expected results. However, I feel a great sense of accomplishment in contributing to the production process after finding the root cause through a process of elimination and ultimately deploying a method I proposed into our production line.
Although I’m still learning a lot from others, my goal is to become more knowledgeable and capable of identifying issues, and to finding quality improvement solutions on my own.
